Fox Lair News
2022:
January:
Year end awards started to be announced for AHS and Fox Lair was excited to learn that we have, once again, won the Benchmark Perpetual Trophy. The award was given to License to Kill OTJ for the highest score through jump chute for the inspection year (9.25)!
We were also told that Valaena FLS tied for 2nd place in the 2 year old Futurity!

On top of this, four of Fox Lair's mares were accepted into the Jumper Breeding Program - License to Kill OTJ, Catoya, Classic Touch, and Calida!
July:
As we do every year, we attended the YHS show series shows. We first went to the MD show at High Point Hanoverians where we took Chades of Devil Z and Chapeaulora Z. Chades of Devil Z earned an 8.95 and took 1st place while Chapeaulora Z got an 8.18 and took 3rd in the yearling in-hand/at liberty class.

The following day we attended the VA show at Allforit Farm where we took Alcyone Z, Vlassic FLS, and Olympia RV Z. Alcyone Z earned an 8.93 and was second in-hand/at liberty in the yearling class. Vlassic FLS received an 8.3 and took away second inh-hand/at liberty 2yo. Olympia RV Z got an 8.97 in-hand (1st) and an 8.61 in jump chute for the 4yos. It was an amazing weekend!
August:
In 2022, we hosted our first inspection with Westfalen NA. We presented several mares and foals with outstanding results!

Inspection highlights include:
Saskia, Arnacquine du Mesnil, Catoya, FF Valour, Istina van de Kapel and Calida all being accepted into the MMB and granted their Pradikat Sport for placing in competition above 1.40m.
Classic Touch and Tailormade Chussuri were also accepted MMB and also earned their Premium Sport titles for placing at or above 1.20m.

Both Valaena FLS and Olympia RV Z were given Premium Mare status, with Olympia RV Z coming out as top mare.

Queenofthedamned FLS and Conjuring FLS were both Gold Medal Foals, with Conjuring FLS coming out as top foal overall!
October:
Once again, Fox Lair attended the Quality Auction for Zangersheide foals and we ended up coming away with THREE foals! We also got two super exciting three year old mares!
Foals: Cupcake JT Z (Cumano x Heartbreaker), Coscada Hemo Z (Comme il Faux Z x Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve), Caravaggio Optimus Z (Cumano x Kashmir van Schuttershof). While we were importing young horses we also purchased another weanling filly out of our very own Olympia RV Z. Extra Olympia RV Z (Emerald van't Ruytershof x Ogano Sitte)!
Three year olds: Angie vd Withoeve Z (Asca Z x I Am Moerhoeve's Star) and Touch of Cera du Maillet Z (Taloubet Z x Come On).
We are very excited to welcome all of these young horses to our program where they will join the Fox Lair Performance team when they are of age.
November:
We hadn't attended the YHS Finals in a few years, but with the outstanding results from qualifiers we decided to attend with Olympia RV Z. She earned impressive scores and came 1st in both 4yo classes! To top it off Fox Lair Sport Horses earned 3rd in the breeder standings for the year, with Vlassic FLS and Cair Paravel FLS (owned by Tiffany Catledge) giving us a total score of 17.20! For end of the year results in the jumper category, Olympia RV Z came first, Chades of Devil Z came 3rd, and Alcyone Z came 5th! Cair Paravel FLS, bred by Fox Lair, came away 1st in the hunter category!
2021:
August:
This was a very busy month for us and is always one of our favorite times of the year! We again hosted an inspection for the American Hanoverian Society. The inspection was very busy with around 20 horses attending.
Highlights from the inspection include:
Classic Touch and Catoya went through the MPT where Catoya came out the winner! Classic Touch was named as a Premium Rheinland mare candidate. Both mares earned scores over 8s in the jump chute, which qualified them for the Jumper Breeding Program.
Valaena FLS won the 2-year-old Futurity class!
Quasar Blue FLS was named the Top Hanoverian Foal and was the only Gold Medal Foal!

September:
Fox Lair acquired two broodmares late in the season so these two were unable to attend the inspection at our facility. License to Kill OTJ and Calida attend the MAHB inspection on September 25th. License to Kill OTJ was put through jumping chute where she earned an overall score of 9.25, qualifying her for the jumper breeding program! Calida was easily accepted into the AHS MMB. Since she has a performance career, she didn't need to prove herself through jump chute.
October:
Fox Lair attended the Quality Auction for Zangersheide foals of 2021. While we had only intended on purchasing one or two quality fillies, Fox Lair ended up coming away with FOUR! Chades of Devil Z (Chacco Blue x Nabab de Reve), Alcyone Z (Aganix du Seigneur Z x Cornet Obolensky), Chapeaulora Z (Catoki Z x Chin Chin), Georgina Z (Glasgow VH Merelsnest x Air Jordan Z) all made their way to the United States! We are very excited to welcome these four fillies to our program where we can hopefully attain some embryos and where they will join the Fox Lair Performance team when they are of age.
